Sundays = Doom and Thrash

Over the past 2 weeks I've been listening to 1 band a lot. Rhino, previously known has Horn Of The Rhino. The reason for their name change is all to do with legal issues and bollocks I don't understand. Rhino, who hail from Spain are a cross of many genres including Doom, Thrash, and Sludge and their latest album Grengus is fucking quality It has a sound of pain and suffering which is fucking perfect for the whole slow doomy atmosphere.

Just a couple of bands I've come across

It's been a busy couple of weeks so regarding listening to new bands. I have picked up a couple of bands which I have instantly fallen in love with. First off let's start with Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats. You know when you come across a certain band who just captures you? Well these guys have captured me good and proper. I would personally describe them has a psychedelic/doom mixture. They hail from Cambridge UK and consist of 3 members. I know I don't add more to the description. This is only because I like you lovely people to discover the goodness for yourselves.

Next up is British thrash metal balled called Warpath. A band who come from Swansea, Wales. I can't really give much of a description as they don't really stand out above any other British new wave thrash band. What I will say is if you like your trash with a late 80's / early 90's raw sound then Warpath are one to check out.

Yet more thrash!

I have spent more time listening to thrash than any other genre of metal over the past week or so. So what have I been listening to? Well first let's start with Havok. A band hailing from Denver, Colorado, after 2 self released albums they were picked up by Britain's Candlelight Records. Havok combine blistering riffs and hard as fuck vocals, and unlike a lot of thrash bands that come and go, Havok will remain part of the scene for a hell of a long time, feel free to check them out with the link below.

A week of nothing but thrash.

It's been over a week since my last post. I've had to delay the move which in one way is a weight off, but on the other hand it's only delaying it. Anyways I have been having a week of listening to nothing but thrash, a few bands that are newcomers and a few that are already well established. Let's start with "Suicidal Angels", a band that came right out the blue, but boy am I glad I discovered them. They hail from Greece which is fairly rare when you consider that it's not a country known for a great thrash metal scene. I don't like to give to much away when writing about bands. I much prefer you guys to check them out for yourselves and give some feedback, link's posted underneath, ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Will this week end? oh and some bands to check out

Well we're almost through the week and still the misery continues. My imminent move will be taking place next week so this shit looms over my already wrecked and ruined head. Anyway enough of this bollocks and lets get onto some bands that I have recently discovered and been listening to. First of let's start with Sheavy. A band that I have only just recently discovered despite the fact they have been around for years. To put them into that awful genre category which I fucking hate, it would have to be doom/stoner. Vocally it's very Ozzy Osbourne tho, the link is added to check them out and I think they will be a real ear opener to many.

Next band is Foreskin. A pakistani thrash/punk band (You won't hear that often) But I think they have that ultimate perfect raw sound. I have never heard one single person mention them before but for fans who, like me, love the sound of that raw dirty sound then this band is most definitely for you.

Weekend is here which means metal and beer.

Well thank fuck the weekend is here, yet another week is over and to be honest it wasn't a bad week. I been checking out a band which I have just recently discovered. Severed Fifth is their name, they originate from Oakland CA andby no means are they a new band but just one I wasn't aware of. I'm gonna add the link to their site so you can check them out , hope ya enjoy. If I was to describe them I would consider them more melodic death rather than out and out death , anyways check them out and see what you think.

Bands I mostly listen to now.

I do still love and listen to plenty of NWOBHM  but I've also branched out to many metal genres. For some reason I seemed to have found my home within the black/death scene. Bands I listen to and go see are the likes of Cradle of Filth, Carpathian Forest, Burzum. I kind of fell into the black metal scene by accident after picking up a copy of Cradle's Dusk and Her Embrace album  around '96 ish and from that point my love not just for Cradle but also for black metal grew from there. Of course I know Cradle Can't really be pinned down to any genre but this will never stop me from loving them and being a life long fan.
